Hey Brother Wanna Be A Strong Man?

Man was the crowning glory and final piece of God’s creation, but look at him now! Many men are not willing to subject themselves to God. They have a different set of priorities. A “manly man” or “worldly man” feels strong when he can use more profanity, drink more alcohol, or smoke more cigarettes and cigars than anyone else. He uses many of these things to cover his own weaknesses. Man is not satisfied with himself; therefore he tries to change himself so that he can feel good about himself.

 

Society’s idea of a real man is one who is able to make the most money, display his super athletic ability and exert power over the opposite sex. However we have seen what happens to those kings and other great men who fallen victim to the allure of greed and power. King Solomon, the wisest king of them all, declared that all is vanity without God.

 

A man does not become a real man until he becomes God’s man. A Godly man lives a life of love, compassion, meekness, humility, and wisdom. He finds strength not in himself but in the spirit of the Lord.

 

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)

 

Your intelligence, unique abilities or physical strength will only get you so far. Hey brother still want to be a strong man? Well this is how we roll! “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”(Ephesians 6:10) It’s only through Christ and His infusion of inner strength that will empower you to do all things (Philippians 4:13 paraphrased).
