More Than Meets The Eye - Dec. LaToya Hunter
2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (Message) says, “So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye...” God is telling you to not be moved, don’t come off of your stance. The Lord wants you to know that he is your way out. Don’t run from him, but run to him. 2 Corinthians 7:10 (Message) says, “Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets; end up on a deathbed of regrets.” This verse is saying you will never regret choosing salvation. It’s far better than any alternative, think about it.
God knows that there is more to you than there is to you, meaning, like in 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 he has a plan for your life and things are happening for your good. Even if it doesn’t look like it, feel like it or sound like it, things are going to work in your favor, he always has and always will have a plan for your life. Remember God’s word is true, and as long as we continue to speak the word with our mouths and believe it in our hearts, we can not be defeated. Not to say that trials won’t come, but remember 1 John 4:4b (KJV), “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Be encouraged. Don’t loose faith. Remember who you are in Christ and what his word says about you, and remember that you are the deciding witness. I leave you with these questions:
1. What are you saying about yourself?
2. What does the word of God say about you?
3. Do they line up?
As you think on these things remember God loves you and that there is more to you than meets the eye.
