Our Children, Our Treasures - Dec. Sandra Jones
Our children are our most precious earthly resource. Each child is different, but every child is similar in this respect. He or she is a priceless gift from God and with the Father’s gift come immense responsibility.
As responsible adults we must create homes in which the next generation can grow, live in safety and in freedom. Today, let us pray for our children – all of them. Pray for our children at home and our children around the world. 3 John 4 says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are living by the truth” (NIRV). Every child is God’s child, may we as concerned adults summon the wisdom, the courage and the strength to protect those precious little ones who cannot protect themselves.
We inhabit a world that can be a confusing and fearful place. It is a world filled with pressures, temptations and distractions that pose grave threats to our children. Let us make certain we do the important work of caring for our children. No work is more important Luke 18:17 says, “What I am about to tell you is true. Anyone who will not receive God’s kingdom like a little child will never enter in.”(NIRV).
Children are not so different from kites. Children were created to fly, but they need wind, the under girding and strength that come from unconditional love, encouragement and prayer.
